13:30 Gather and depart from the THSR Taipei Station, and take the chartered vehicle to the Martyrs’ Shrine, which is situated next to the Grand Hotel, with its back surrounded by lush green mountains and its front facing the Keelung River. The architecture mimics that of the Taihe Palace in the Palace Museum, which exudes majesty and magnificence, making it one of the landmarks in the Yuanshan region. The lush meadow which surrounds the Martyrs’ Shrine creates a solemn and dignified atmosphere amidst the surrounding mountains; it also accents the solemnness of the architecture. |
|
Take the vehicle to the National Palace Museum, which boasts a large collection of more than 650,000 pieces of precious Chinese cultural and art relics, including: bronze ware, jade ware, pottery, lacquer ware, curios, calligraphy, painting, manuscripts, ancient books and literature, etc., covering five millennia of the longstanding Chinese history. |

•C.K.S. Memorial Hall: In addition to providing a recreational venue to the public, the park area has also become a gathering ground for mass movements ever since martial law was lifted. Numerous social and political movements were held here, such as the renowned Wild Lily student movement and Wild Strawberry student movement. This is also a venue for large arts and cultural events. The National Theater and Concert Hall are established on the south and north side of the park area respectively; they are managed by the National C.K.S. Cultural Center. |
